Farewell from Lucy Lou

This story should have been in our last newsletter but with the advent of Covid and the resignation of our newsletter editor it is appropriate that it appears here. Lucy Lou, a beautiful tortie Maine Coon, Supreme  Show winner belonging to Fiona Brownsmith should have been at our 2020 Championship Show - which did not take place due to Covid lockdown. Here is her farewell.

"To all my furry friends

I’m so sorry I can’t make the Nor’East of Scotland Cat Club Show this year.  This is the first Nor’East show I have missed in 10 years. My first show being in 2009 with the Caledonian CC when I was only 8 months old. My Mummy and her niece Lizanne loved showing me and we made such lovely friends.  She then entered me in the Nor’ East CC show and became a member of the club after which I was entered into their show in 2010 and every year since.

As I was lucky enough to become more successful, Mummy and I started to travel around Scotland to many of the other cat shows and even ventured South two years running to the Supreme Show in Birmingham where I gained my UK title. My Mummy was so proud of me.

One year I brought my cousin Bunny along. He is an Imperial Grand Master, and we spent the night together at the Express Travel Lodge – that was fun!!!  You can see the news on the Nor’ East of Scotland club’s website telling everyone all about it.  Thank you to all the judges over the years for their lovely comments – they said I was a classic tortie and white, with the most beautiful red, black and white dramatic colours and such expressive eyes. Also thank you to Margaret my breeder and my real Mummy - Shiloh at PowerKatz.

Unfortunately, I became ill in October 2019 and too poorly to go to the shows anymore.  I shall miss seeing you all, but my Mummy will still be there to help you. I’m leaving behind my little half-brother, Leo, but Mummy and Daddy will look after him.

I know Mummy and Daddy miss me so very much, as I know how much they loved me and still do.

Good luck to all my furry friends and, especially to my little brother, Leo.

Sending you my love and best wishes from over the rainbow bridge."
